Wow....it has been a year since I have blogged a wedding! Weddings just take a really long time to blog... and this year has been so crazy! But that's what "slow season" for us photographers is for...stuff like this! haha
Makailyn and Jesse had a fairly short engagement, so because of that, they didn't want an engagement session. So we weren't able to meet in person until the day of the wedding! This isn't always something I prefer, but sometimes it just can't be helped! And I knew from the first time I chatted with Makailyn via Zoom that we were going to hit it off and that it was going to be a wonderful wedding day!
Their wedding was at The Refinery...one of my favorite local venues (plus it's within walking distance of my current apartment)! Everything about that day was so perfect...except for the weather! It rained practically all day (except for a small little window where we were able to get a few bride and groom portraits in the courtyard)... so because of that...we had to do all of the first looks and wedding party portraits indoors. It really pushed me to be creative and utilize every inch of the venue space! haha! Overall it was a perfect wedding day and it ended with a rainbow and sparklers! Can't get much better than that!
